Launched in 2018, New Horizons: Life Skills Empowering Nashville Youth is a three-year initiative of the International Youth Foundation and Rodan + Fields that equips vulnerable Nashville youth, ages 14 to 18, with the skills, support, and opportunities they need to thrive in school, work, and life. Working with and through local youth-serving nonprofit organizations who understand the challenges, aspirations, and needs of their youth better than anyone, IYF contributes our expertise in life skills training and program management, including implementation of our foundational life skills curricula, Passport to Success. By incorporating lessons in areas like problem solving, goal-setting, conflict management, communication, and career planning into existing programmatic frameworks, the initiative will address youth disengagement that often leads to negative outcomes like high dropout rates, drug and alcohol use, and difficulty finding employment. In so doing, New Horizons will help Nashville youth overcome the barriers that stand in the way to the bright futures they desire and deserve.
